Founding

Originally founded in metropolitan Seattle, Washington as Bronze Age in early 2004, Hanseatic Traders grew from a garage business to establish a downtown metro Seattle office becoming a member of the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle and The Seattle Chamber of Commerce.

Interns from Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Poland and Romania were brought aboard to assist in the growth phase of the business including international marketing, trade, sales and import consulting. A dedicated online portal for global resale was established and a European purchaser was hired to negotiate product imports from Polish and German markets. Our business model has always focused on green products and recycling.

Hanseatic League

Hanseatic Traders references the 12th-14th century Baltic Sea based merchants who formed a mercantile league to protect their collective businesses and sell their wares including amber, timber and salt from St. Petersburg to Oslo to Bruges.

The Hanseatic League, as it was called, was tremendously successful in harnessing broad economic clout from their endeavors. They even formed their own military and diplomatic corps which eventually rivaled large countries like Sweden and the principalities of Germany. Their legacy helped lay the foundation for a strong mercantile focused middle class throughout Europe.
